God at Work through You
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” (Colossians 2:6–7)
The phrase “continue to live” reminds us of our ongoing commitment as followers of Christ—a never-ending pursuit of truth bringing glory to our Creator. How exciting to know that God has given us curious minds to grow in our faith by learning more about him and his creation!
Last month, we received a note from an RTB friend that described just how exciting the journey can be:
I cried when I was first introduced to your cosmological creation model. I’m not the type that cries. I was so frustrated with the unscientific approach that most believers seem so content with. I had avoided talking about creation for years, and had begun to wonder if the entire first nine chapters of Genesis were allegory. At some point, I googled “Christian astronomer” because I had always been interested in astronomy, and I figured a Christian astronomer would have some interesting answers. Boy, was I right. Fifteen minutes later, I was filled with hope and joy. I pored over articles and talks you have given on the subject. I have a 50-page document of notes taken from those three days. I’ve read your books, and found not only what I think is truth, but an exciting new realm where my mind can play. I was introduced to a whole new world of thought that didn’t restrict my mind while also allowing my faith to have soil in which to grow. Secondly, I’m surrounded by atheists. In fact, it’s a huge part of my ministry, discussing faith with atheists. The resources you’ve created have been a huge help because I no longer feel that there is any subject I have to avoid, even with the most aggressive person. Thanks so much for what you’ve done.
We hope you see how Lucas’ gratitude extends to you, an RTB supporter and ambassador, as well. Your commitment to growing in both heart and mind is an inspiration as we continue seeking and sharing reasons to believe. Thank you for adventuring with us, and for allowing others to plant their faith where it will be confidently rooted and encouraged to grow!
