With the creation of artificial life in the lab on the horizon, many people—Christians in particular—are asking if synthetic biology is a safe and ethical discipline. Most importantly, they ask, “Are scientists playing God?” It has become apparent to me that the best way to address these questions is by establishing a theology for synthetic biology.
