Prayer Vigil

by Bob Stuart

Many responses came to the call for a Prayer Vigil on behalf of Reasons To Believe. During the month of July over 100 people volunteered to pray daily for 15 minutes in order to lift up the people and purposes that are part of the RTB ministry. People from the East coast to the West joined together to offer their time and effort in prayer. Even constituents as far away as Canada, Israel, Australia, and the Philippines wrote to inform us of their involvement.

The commitment shown by RTB’s many friends was mixed with great enthusiasm as well. One participant wrote, "I truly thank you for the opportunity to serve with you and the others at Reasons To Believe. I am excited and confident that the month of July will be a powerful one for His kingdom." Another wrote, "Thank you for including us and giving us the opportunity to share our faith with yours in prayer." One lady kept a prayer time that involved her praying during the early hours of the morning. In spite of being on vacation for part of the month she assured me that the time would be covered in prayer. We also had prisoners who let us know they were participating. Around the RTB office, activities and projects seemed to move along more smoothly on Thursdays when the staff was being prayed for. The Lord has also brought about many changes during the month of July that hold promise of being beneficial for the ministry.

Finally, it is gratifying to know that there are so many people truly care enough to commit time and effort to daily prayer for the purpose of bringing glory to our Lord Jesus Christ through the ministry of Reasons To Believe. The RTB staff will want to organize another prayer vigil next year because of the encouragement from all of you who made this such a successful venture. Thank you, and God bless you all.
