Letters
"I went to Dr. Hugh Ross's lecture in Tokyo. I am fascinated by your
ministry. I am also grateful that the Lord has deployed such a person as an
apologist for Christian faith. I will try to introduce your ministry to my
Christian and non-Christian friends."
"My training is in economics and so I have to offer a perspective on your
fall [vol. 11, no. 3, 1997] leading article, 'The Haste to Conclude Waste.'
The idea of waste makes sense only in a world of scarcity. In our world,
scarcity is ever present, so individuals, businesses, and governments
attempt to conserve natural, human, and capital resources. Yet, if our God
can create, as we certainly believe He can, then the very idea of 'waste'
in creation is absurd. Neither scientist, nor movie script writer, nor
especially those of us who call ourselves Christians should ascribe to the
Creator the limitations we face."
"...I am a science teacher in public school and I chuckle inside every time
I read Facts & Faith. To see the truth seeping out of science for an
almighty, loving, Supreme Creator surely supersedes any insecurities handed
down from my peers..."
"...Please discuss the problem of the rainbow's being given to man as a
sign. If it was not always present, was there a cloud canopy hiding
sunlight from the earth? When I was younger, I used this problem to dismiss
the Bible as fables..." [I'm glad you ask, Jerry. This question is addressed, along with many others that prompt some people to "dismiss the Bible as fables" in Hugh's newest book, scheduled for release this fall. We'll keep you posted as to its availability.-KR]
"...The past eight years have been a trial. I have suffered two severe back
injuries and have not been able to work. My wife is a Proverbs 31 woman, a
Godsend. I also suffer from tinnitis, bi-lateral nerve deafness, and a
heavy dose of self-pity.
