Reasons Institute - Tuition and College Credit

Reasons Institute is proud to offer university-level courses for audit, Christian college credit, and undergraduate and graduate credit.

• Audit

• Christian College Credit - Offered through Northern California Bible College

• Undergraduate and Graduate Level Credit - Offered through Hope International University

• Graduate Level Credit - Offered through Biola University

Audit

Students desiring to audit this course for personal development are welcome to do so. They are given access to all course materials, and may participate in group discussions and any other learning activities (readings, discussions, assignments, etc.). There are no prerequisites to audit a course. Audit courses offer no college credit and cannot be upgraded for college credit at a later time.

Students who audit the course are asked to, at minimum, do the following:

• Listen to all lectures and videos,

• Read all required textbooks and articles,

• Participate in weekly threaded discussions with other students.

• Study questions, research papers, and video reports are optional.

Students who audit a course in order to remain their "active" status as a RTB Volunteer Apologist are required to do all of the assignments above, plus:

• Answer all study questions,

• Submit one short paper (e.g. video report, book review),

• Take the final exam.

Northern California Bible College

Reasons Institute has partnered with Northern California Bible College (NCBC) to offer undergraduate credit for the following courses.

• Creation and the Bible
• Creation vs. Evolution
• Astronomy and Design

NCBC is accredited by the California Council for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education to offer both Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biblical Studies. Reasons Institute course credits are transferable to many Christian colleges. Students should check with their college registrar office in order to verify eligibility requirements.

Hope International University

Reasons Institute has partnered with the School of Professional Studies at Hope International University (HIU) to offer undergraduate and graduate credit for the following courses.

• Creation and the Bible
• Creation vs. Evolution
• Astronomy and Design
• Critical Thinking Skills
• Biblical Archaeology
• World Religions and Science

HIU is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). These credits are transferable to mainstream colleges and universities, both Christian and secular. Students should check with their college registrar office in order to verify eligibility requirements.

Students who wish to receive credit for Reasons Institute courses must complete a short Non-Degree Application (no application fee is required). Contact Sarah Gardiner, Graduate Ministry Program Coordinator at HIU at (800) 762-1294, x2260 or slgardiner@hiu.edu.

Graduate Certificate in Apologetics – Eligible students can apply Reasons Institute courses toward a Graduate Certificate in Apologetics through Hope International University. This short video will introduce you to this exciting opportunity.

• Graduate students who successfully complete this sequence of six courses can earn a Graduate Certificate in Apologetics: Critical Thinking Skills, Creation and the Bible, Creation vs. Evolution, Astronomy and Design, World Religions and Science and Biblical Archaeology.

• Units earned toward this certificate can also be rolled into the M.A. degree for those who are eligible and would like to pursue the degree.

Reasons Institute has partnered with our friends in the Master of Arts in Science and Religion (MASR) program at Biola to offer graduate-level credit for the following courses.

• Adv. Seminar on the Origins of Life
• Adv. Seminar on Human Origins
• Biblical Archaeology
• World Religions and Science

Biola is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). These credits are transferable to mainstream colleges and universities, both Christian and secular. Students should check with their college registrar office in order to verify eligibility requirements.

Students who wish to receive credit for Reasons Institute courses through Biola must contact the university in order to enroll in the M.A. in Science and Religion program and complete the appropriate application process.

Tuition for Biola University: $447 per unit + materials

• Please note: Tuition costs are determined by the individual educational institution awarding academic credit.
