Reasons Academy - Lesson Format and Academic CalendarLesson FormatEach course includes:
Students should expect to spend between 4-6 hours working on each week's assignments. The typical lesson usually involves either watching a video or listening to a lecture. Students then answer questions based on what they have learned. Students can go through each lesson at their own pace; there is no set time when they must be "in class." The course concludes with a final research paper and written exam to assess student progress. Students who purchase the Complete Course Package will log on to the Moodle online learning platform and participate in weekly threaded discussions moderated by an Online Instructor who is an official Reasons To Believe apologist. Students will submit assignments, papers, and the final exam directly to the Online Instructor, who will grade the papers and provide feedback. Academic CalendarStudents who purchase the Complete Course Package may enroll in two consecutive sessions of a traditional 10-week online course that begin and end on specified dates. Students may take up to six months to complete the entire Good Science, Good Faith course. Sessions are held throughout the year, even during the summer months, to accommodate your unique scheduling needs.
When the student is ready to begin their coursework, parents need to fill out an online registration form for Reasons Academy. Students may enroll at any time during the year; however, it is best to enroll several weeks prior to the start date to allow for materials to arrive in time. Students who wish to drop the course prior to the beginning of the term will receive a refund minus a $5 handling fee. Once an online session has started, NO refunds will be given. However, in the event you must postpone, students may request to have fees transferred to the semester immediately following provided the cancellation notice is within the first two weeks of the class and made in writing. For specific start dates, please call our office at (800) 482-7836 x116 or email the the Course Coordinator at learning@reasons.org. |
