RTB Houston Chapter Mission Statement
The Houston Chapter will represent Reasons To Believe in the greater Houston area, and contribute both human and financial resources to the overall ministry. We will strive to serve the entire local Church by working to fulfill the following missions:
1. Educate both Christians and non-Christians on "Two Books" theology:
- That there is harmony between God's inerrant Word (the Bible) and His "book" of creation, but that human interpretation of either can be faulty;
- That ultimate causes in nature can never be fully understood apart from God's revelation in the Bible;
- That scientific discoveries can improve our understanding of the Bible by providing a means of testing alternative interpretations;
- That the pursuit truth in both areas is facilitated by a broad education, sound reasoning, an open mind, a cooperative spirit, and a willingness to test interpretations.
2. Equip Chapter Members to lovingly and effectively communicate these truths to both Christians and non-Christians
