Chapters and Networks

RTB chapters and networks exist to impact their local communities by sharing evidence—especially from cutting-edge science research—to encourage faith in the God of the Bible. Their mission is to strengthen and equip fellow believers for productive dialogue with doubters and skeptics, inviting them to follow Jesus Christ.

RTB chapters and networks extend the ministry of Reasons To Believe throughout the world, disseminating the message that scientific evidence supports faith in the God of the Bible, faith that is rooted in testable truth.

    Becoming A Chapter

As stated in the RTB Chapter Bylaws, there are three branches of the chapter ministry that require various amounts of training and responsibility. These are:

    1. RTB Chapter (USA) - Consisting of at least four RTB-trained officers, chapters are actively involved in their community as well as in developing potential officers and equipping their members for ministry.

    2. RTB International Chapter - Similar to RTB Chapters (USA), these chapters consist of at least two RTB-trained officers, allowing for the spreading of RTB's ministry to those not geographically connected to RTB headquarters.

    3. RTB Network - These networks allow people who share a common interest in RTB to meet together for the purpose of ministry and fellowship. These groups have fewer requirements but may eventually grow into RTB Chapters.

Though chapters are supervised by RTB headquarters, they are run by local volunteers committed to RTB's mission and vision. These volunteers are required to complete RTB training courses for officer positions and be in agreement with RTB's Statement of Faith in order to keep a structure of accountability and ministry continuity.

Individual chapters utilize the unique gifts and talents of their officers and membership to bring about the chapter ministry goals. Some of these specific ministry goals include:

    • Equipping chapter members to better use apologetics in ministry
    • Organizing and executing outreach events and activities, involving RTB speakers and scholars when available
    • Establishing relationships with outside organizations (both Christian and secular) such as churches, businesses, schools, media, etc.
    • Promoting the RTB ministry and resources
