Mission Statement
The Portland Network is dedicated to supporting the RTB ministry by providing a local presence of RTB's science apologetics evangelism. We strive to edify ourselves in science apologetics, provide outreaches to edify both believers and non-believers, and support those who respond to the message. RTB chapters and networks provide an excellent opportunity to put the RTB approach into action!

Willamette Christian Church in West Linn is the wonderful non-denominational
conservative Christian church that partnered with us in July bring Hugh Ross
and Jeff Zweerink to speak at three of their weekend services.
(www.willamettechurch.com) They have given us whole-hearted support to use
their 10th Street facility for our Tuesday evening meetings.
A note on scheduling, however. We have previously preferred a fairly loose 1st and 3rd Tuesday approach to Portland RTB meetings. This will need to change to 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, as they have previous facility commitments for 1st and 3rd Tuesdays. I think this should be OK, although it will mean getting a little creative around Thanksgiving and Christmas. It will also mean that our first meeting at the Willamette Christian 10th Street building will be this Tuesday, October 14th, at 7:00PM.
The meeting topic will be Dr. Hugh Ross's book "Creation as Science", the book which best pulls together all disciplines of the RTB ministry into one "Testable Creation Model". The book forms the material for lesson 7 in the RTB Officer Training course. Be prepared to turn in your study question answers if you are taking the course for RTB credit.
The 10th Street Church facility of Willamette Christian Church is literally one block south of the 10th Street/West Linn exit off of I-205 (exit number 6). The church address is officially 2015 8th Ave, West Linn, OR 97068, which is probably the easiest adress to use for accessing the church parking lot (despite the fact that the church building actually faces Willamette Falls Drive, not 8th Ave). Traveling south on 10th Ave after the freeway exit, the first street you come to is 8th Ave. Take a right (west) onto 8th Ave. and then an immediate left into the church parking lot. (It is also possible to reach the parking lot from Willamette Falls Drive.)
INCIDENTALLY!! I believe the label on the building is "10th Street Church", not Willamette Christian. I could be wrong there, but I recall being a bit confused by that in July.
Our meetings provide opportunities to discuss the latest exciting topics in science apologetics and to learn and fellowship with other people of similar passion for how science relates to the Christian faith. These meetings are open to all and no special understanding of science is required--just a desire to see another exciting side of our Lord Jesus Christ.
