About the Director:
Philip Bennett is happily married to Adrienne and has four adult children. He
works as a Technical Consultant, specializing in water treatment and holds
degrees in Engineering and Theology.
Philip gave his life to the Lord at a Billy Graham crusade in 1958, but, when the searching questions he was asking went largely unanswered, he decided that Christianity had nothing to offer him. He searched in many other areas, including eastern religions and various branches of the occult.
During 1968, in the space of five weeks, he was caught up in several life-threatening incidents, one of which was the 'Wahine' disaster, the sinking of the Cook Strait ferry with the loss of 52 lives. During one of the incidents, he believes he heard the voice of God with a message giving instructions which saved his life. This dramatic incident brought him back to a belief in the God of the Bible.
He was, however, 'hi-jacked' by Satan into Freemasonry, rising through the degrees for over 15 years, but not realizing the implications. During this period, he worked up to the higher levels in several of the lodges, including the 'blue', the 'red' and the lodge of research. His Masonic career culminated with his involvement in the Knights Templar, the 30th degree.
He came to question his involvement in Freemasonry due to the offices of a good friend and brother in Christ. After much prayer and seeking God's will, he resigned from all branches of freemasonry because closer inspection of the Bible made it abundantly clear that Christianity and Freemasonry are quite incompatible. He now has a heart to warn others of the dangers of all lodges and 'secret societies', dangers usually concealed from the candidates.
Philip now lives at Raumati South, NZ, where he has been instrumental in bringing Christian television to the area, the first Christian station on air in New Zealand. Both Philip and Adrienne were raised as Presbyterians, but of late they have found God leading them into ministry within other churches and organizations on a non-denominational basis.
Following training by Reasons To Believe, a ministry integrating the Bible to the latest scientific discoveries and led by astrophysicist, Dr. Hugh Ross, Philip has become an volunteer apologist with the ministry.
