About Us

Reasons To Believe Cincinnati is an extension of the worldwide interdenominational ministry of Reasons To Believe. Our Chapter was founded in January of 2004. We exist to support and expand RTB's ministry. We presently serve the greater Cincinnati area with members across Ohio and Kentucky - with interest expressed from areas as far away as Illinois, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.

We have a wide variety of skill sets and interests within our membership. Just some of which are Old Testament studies and Hebrew, geology, astronomy, history and time lines, etc.

We would love to share with you that there is an intelligence behind our creation, and that you can be a thinking person as well as a person of faith - without compromising either!

We invite you contact us with any questions, objections, doubts, or concerns that you may have - whether you are a Christian of any denomination, non-Christian, or skeptic.

Our Mission

The mission of the Cincinnati Chapter of Reasons To Believe is to:

  • Seek God's guidance through prayer at all meetings.
  • Seek opportunities to present the gospel to unbelievers while utilizing apologetics.
  • Promote dual revelation theology (the idea that the Bible as well as the world and universe around us both express truth about the Creator).
  • Encourage and develop alliances with local churches, Christian educational organizations, and other Christian ministries to promote Reasons To Believe's ministry.
  • Encourage Christians to embrace science in their evangelistic endeavors.
  • Equip Christians with tools that affirm how science (across all disciplines) is confirming and adding insight into the claims of the Bible.
  • Encourage our members to become volunteer apologists for RTB.
  • Foster the development of local discussion groups in churches that address science within their biblical studies.
  • Provide thought provoking speakers from scientific and theological perspectives to introduce people to the Reasons To Believe ministry.
  • Where possible, provide an alternative to Darwinian evolution while maintaining a distinction from what skeptics consider "creationism".
  • Provide parents and home schoolers with resources for answering tough questions from children and students.
  • Cross-train ourselves by capitalizing on the skills that exist within our membership.
  • Meet at regular intervals for common fellowship and to insure that we are meeting our mission.

Where & When We Meet

Cincinnati Christian University (formerly Cincinnati Bible College) in the level below the library (post-grad area) of the library building.

We currently meet every other month (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sep, Nov) usually on the 2nd Saturday, but you should check this site or email us to confirm the date since special speakers or events have sometimes pushed us to other Saturdays. We invite people to come at 1:15 P.M. for a brief sign-in and fellowship time with the official meeting commencing at 2:00 P.M.

If you request to be on our announcement list, you will get meeting info prior to meetings. The official meeting goes until 3:30 or 4:00 with possible extension of the meeting continuing to 5:30 if there is interest or extra Chapter business to attend to. Meetings are informal and folks who have other appointments can leave early easily. For directions or additional information click here.
