New nuclear physics laboratory measurements and calculations verify exquisite design in the cosmic baryon density and affirm the big bang anew. Physicists measured and calculated the value for the density of baryons (protons and neutrons) in the universe at 4.5 percent of the total cosmic density. These results were consistent with two previous observations. This additional confirmation helps increase confidence in the big bang creation event, in big bang cosmic history, and in the conclusion that the universe indeed is extremely fine-tuned to make life’s existence possible.
